On peut aujourd’hui encore localiser l’endroit exact représenté par Caillebotte en 1876.

Malheureusement, la majestueuse dentelle métallique bordant la rue a été remplacée

depuis longtemps par une grille tout-à-fait ordinaire.

Néanmoins, les rails et les toits de la Gare Saint-Lazare permettent de retrouver

avec un peu d’imagination le site tel qu’il se présentait aux yeux de Caillebotte.

It is still possible to find the exact spot Caillebotte painted in 1876.

Unfortunately, the spectacular steel frame along the streetwalk has been removed since long

and replaced with an very ordinary fence.

Nevertheless, the railway lines and the top of Saint-Lazare station allow us to imagine

what was Caillebotte’s vision at that time.
